Hello my name is Veronica Brackett and I love to sew! I love clothes, shoes, fashion, art and music. But sewing, it’s my passion. So much so that I didn’t even realize that is was my passion. It’s what I always did!
Sewing was required by my mother. She had me and my older sister get sewing lessons. We were already helping her pin, mark and cut. I took my first formal sewing lesson at the age of ten, at a local fabric store.

Meet Your Patternmaking Instructor

"From early childhood I had a fondness for fiber and textiles. I entered the Fashion Design program at Harper College where I learned the skill of pattern making. Transferring to The School of the Art Institute of Chicago I received a BFA majoring in Fashion Design. Later, I began designing and selling my line of clothes to Chicago area boutiques and department stores. I’m excited to share my pattern making techniques in the 'Introduction to Pattern Making' class at Sew Design Studio."
6-Week Class, 2 1/2 hour weekly class sessions

Wednesdays | 9:30 - 12 PM | September 2 - October 7
Learn patternmaking by draping on a dress form. In this class, we will create basic bodice and sleeve slopers to fit your own measurements. The skills learned will help you alter future patterns and make better fitting garments. This is the first step to designing your own clothes.
Pre-requisites: Sewing experience is required. 2 person minimum
